The White Stripes – Seven Nation Army (album: Elephant 2003)

This song is by The White Stripes. Discovered by my hubby. We spent a lot of time reading Jack White’s thoughts on his website. He is F... amazing!!! He is so talented. He came out with a special riff for his guitar that allows them to play songs without a Bass guitar. I didn’t even noticed that the Bass Guitar is missing, how brilliant is that?!? If you want to get to know him a little bit more then you should watch “It might get loud”, brilliant movie with 3 of the best guitar players ever: Jimmy Page, The Edge and Jack White oh well not the best but pretty close!

I read in sonfacts that this song is a story about a guy coming back to his own hometown after he got really famous. Facing people that gossiping and whispering behind his back all over town and all he wants is to get away from them. I think this story is a metaphor for the gossiping that he and Mag experienced after they got famous. When asked about the relationship between them they always stated that they are siblings but there were constantly rumours about them being married to each other. I say – Who cares, it’s all about the music and nothing else! Check out this magical song...

This song is by Oasis. Their two first albums “definitely maybe” and (what’s the story) morning glory?”  Are very good. I’ve enjoyed listening to it back in the 90’s. Other than that – The Gallagher brothers are such assholes!!!  

This is such a great love song that emphasise the power of love. When you are in love you feel like there is nothing that you can’t do. You are full of energy and you can overcome any obstacles that get in your way. That’s exactly what this song it about so I hope you enjoy listening to it...

Darwin Deez – Radar Detector (Single: Darwin Deez 2010)

This song is by Darwin Deez. This guy cracks me up and that’s why he gets to be on my blog , you should check out the interview video that I’ve added below , The guy is either high on drugs or just stupid.

I’ve played a role of a “Radar Detector” once or twice in my life. When my hubby and I went on a road trip, he asked me to keep an eye on the speed cameras on our way to our destination. The problem is I’ve only managed to spot the camera straight after we passed it already and that of course was too late, we both agreed that I’m I’m not the best “Radar Detector” in the market, oh well I guess I won’t be applying for a “Radar Detector” Job any time soon ;)

This song is by Breaking Benjamin. They have a few awesome songs. I heard about them when they just released “until the end”, my hubby discovered the song and I couldn’t stop listening to it. Sometimes they sound too sentimental for my taste but they have released a few good addictive songs. This is definitely one of them!

My interpretation of the lyrics is that it’s about overcoming tough periods in your life, knowing that no matter what happens it’s going to get better and not letting your fears control your decisions. I’m pretty sure it has something to do with the lead singer’s alcohol abuse and the way he deals with it.”All is lost again but I’m not giving in...” check out this wonderful song...

This song is by Suede. I used to listen to them during my alternative rock period. They have great songs. Their lead singer Brett Anderson sometimes annoys me with his squeaky voice in some of the songs. Overall they are really good.
This song is about being different and accepting who you are, be whatever you decide to be and stop caring about what other people think of you, something that most of us, including myself should work on every single day. It's a Very important message from Brett. Check out this beautiful song...

This song is by Bloodhound Gang. They are an American comedy rock band and they are pretty stupid!!! I find this song very funny. I actually think the music is pretty good. The video clip is very funny. The sex metaphors in this song crack me up!

This song is definitely not a love song! They used the military alphabet to create the word “F U C K” , It’s quite a rude song but it’s hilarious, Took me a few seconds to know what they were singing about , I thought it’s quite cleaver , or as Quagmire from Family Guy would say: “Giggity ,Giggity “ check out this funny song...

This song is by Depeche Mode. I always loved this band. Since I was maybe 12 years old, around the same time I’ve discovered The Cure. They are a really cool; most of their songs were quite a hit. They have made a revolution with their use of midi technology back in the 80’s.

This song is about having faith in a person and the relationship and it’s about the pain of breaking up from someone that you believed to be the one. " I'm going to take my time I have all the time in the world to make you mine it is written in the stars above." During our dating period my hubby and I broke up a few times and I was left dazed and confused but I always believed it will work out at the end and I was right ; )

Bauhaus – Slice of Life (album: Burning from the Inside 1983)

This next song is by the English band Bauhaus. I was exploring them in my Alternative rock period. They are awesome. Peter Murphy was their lead singer and you already know I love him. This is one of their most famous songs. As a teenager, I use to go out to clubs that played alternative music and they were always playing the Bauhaus. My hubby was hanging around the same clubs, how could we have missed each other?!?

This song talks about situations in life and how nothing really matters, at the end of the day we are all facing the same problem and there is only one truth - we are all going to die some day and I quote:  “ so I lied to you once again so I painted over you once again so I die before you once again what’s the difference” Check out this deep and wonderful song...

The Presets – If I know you (album: Apocalypso 2009)

This song is by the awesome Aussie band The Presets. This is one of the most amazing albums I have ever listened to. I couldn’t find even one song that I didn’t like in this album!!! 3 years ago they were playing at Bondi Beach for New Year’s Eve Party. I went with my hubby and a friend and we had such a great time. One of the best parties I’ve ever been to.

When I first heard the lyrics of this song I thought it’s a bit weird since it’s a guy’s voice singing about a breakup from another guy, then I realize they wanted to write it from a woman perspective but it’s just a man’s voice singing it. It’s quite an angry song and only a man’s voice can really express this anger, a woman’s voice would be too soft and it would be just another breakup song. Quite artistic! It’s a song for all liars and cheaters out there that think they can get away with everything. you are wrong and so stupid!

Scorpions – Always Somewhere (album: Lovedrive 1979)

This song is by scorpions. They are the masters of heavy metal ballads. Every time I felt like listening to love songs I would put their ballads on the background. I love this song very much. My hubby plays is so nicely on the guitar. I just love it when he plays it for me.

This song is probably them missing their love ones while touring around the world. I remember when my hubby was travelling to Japan for 2 weeks, I missed him so much, and he decided to surprise me by returning a week earlier. I went with friends to get a Subway for lunch and as I ordered my sandwich I felt like someone is pushing me from behind , I’ve turned around to confront him and I see my hubby standing there. It was such an awesome surprise! Of course he paid for my sandwich... and my drink ;) check out this cool love song...

The story behind the album cover:

The cover depicted a man and woman in formalwear seated in the back of a car, with one of the woman's breasts exposed and connected to the man's hand by stretched bubblegum.  It caused some controversy upon the album's release and was subsequently banned.
In a 2010 interview singer Klaus Meine commented on the album cover stating, "we just did not know it would be a problem in America, it was just sex and rock n roll. It is odd that in America that some of these covers were a problem because in the 80’s when we would tour here we always had boobs flashed to us at the front of the stage.
