My Chemical Romance - Welcome to the Black Parade (album: The Black Parade 2008)

This song is by My Chemical Romance. I didn’t know who the hell they were until I saw them performing when they were supporting “Green Day” on their concert back in 2005. Both My Hubby and I were impressed and listened to their songs after the show. In 2009 we went to see their concert in Sydney, this time they weren’t supporting anyone. It was a very disappointing experience. There were a lot of crazy little girls shouting in the background and it was quite a nightmare. Also their lead singer looks like he is pretty full of himself and it kind of ruined the entire show. I still think they have a few good songs.

This is a song about the last nice memory of a dying young man, when his Dad took him to see a parade. Although I’m not dying as yet, I wish to share my nice memory from my Dad with you .he used to take us almost every weekend to the beach, every time to a different one. I just loved going to the beach with my Dad. It was so much fun! swimming in the big ocean and afterwards he would spoil us with a nice Ice cream , grapes and watermelon cut into perfect sizes. I loved our trips to the beach when I was young. It was so much fun! Check out this awesome song...

What’s this song about?

Here is a comment from songfacts website:

This is the first single from the album The Black Parade. In an interview with MTV, Lead singer Gerard Way explained that the concept of the album is “The Patient” who dies of cancel at an early age. According to Way, death comes in the form of your most powerful memory and for “The Patient” that memory is a parade he went to with his father, which explains the album title.

Maroon 5 – harder to Breathe (album: Songs about Jane 2002)

This song is by Maroon 5. My husband thinks their music is pretty complicated to play and I agree. I also think Adam Levine is a damn good vocalist. Of course we heard about them for the first time when they have just released their album “Songs about Jane” which had a few hits. That’s the album that made them internationally famous.

This song is about feeling very suffocated in a bad relationship but at the same time scared to leave the other person that is totally in control of the relationship. Quite sad, luckily I don’t relate to that because the one thing I’m really proud of in my life is the wonderful relationship I have with my hubby. We really take it easy and don’t let any small things spoil our fun together. I think that people with control issues and ego problems can’t really have a healthy relationship unless they deal with their personal issues first. I think you need to let go and open up completely when you are in a relationship. If you want to be right all the time and do things in your way or the highway then you’ll end up alone and miserable or just make the other person really unhappy and you’ll be missing the purpose of being in a relationship. Anyway, just enjoy this song! I know I certainly will...

Lyrics: Harder to Breathe Lyrics

What’s this song about?

Harder to Breathe" tells the story of a relationship Levine had with a woman named Jane, who, according to Levine was the "muse" in the band's album.

During the making of their debut album, Songs About Jane. The band thought they had enough material for a release, but when the label told them to keep writing, Levine wrote this song in frustration at the pressure. "That song comes sheerly from wanting to throw something. It was the 11th hour, and the label wanted more songs. It was the last crack. I was just pissed. I wanted to make a record and the label was applying a lot of pressure, but I'm glad they did.”(Wikipedia – Harder to Breathe)

The Gift – Seether (album: Karma and Effect 2006)

This is another song by Seether. What can I say, I’m a Seether Junkie! I love this song so much that I felt the need to share it with everyone!

This song is about giving a really meaningful gift to someone that believes he doesn’t deserve it. When I came home from work on Friday night my Hubby told me that he bought me a Purple Ibanez Electric Guitar. It is such an amazing guitar, one of the best that I’ve seen so far. I’ve recently started practicing with my Hubby on Electric Guitar and it’s such a fun experience, I love it. I’m not the best player in world and I’m already getting this awesome guitar, I definitely don’t deserve it! I hope I won’t let him down ;) My Hubby always spoils me with the coolest gifts but I must say this is probably the best gift I’ve ever got from him or anyone. I’m very excited! Thank you my love for making my life as sweet as honey!!! Looking forward to our jam sessions! Check out another awesome song by Seether.

Lyrics: The Gift Lyrics

What’s this song about?

The song is about a man who kills a young girl in a car crash in Southern Mexico. Each year, on The Day of the Dead, he visits the cross at the side of the road at the place where she died, and spends the night there. Meanwhile, the ghost of a little girl goes into town with a Curandero to visit her father and sister, who the man was going out with. As he is driving to the cross, he sees the ghost walking on the side of the road. The little girl ghost leaves candy skulls, representing her forgiveness, on the man's bed, . The "Gift" is the life he took, and the forgiveness she gives him. (The Gift Wikipedia)

Red Hot Chili Peppers – Otherside (album: Californication 2000)

This song is by Red Hot Chili Peppers, when they have released their Blood Sugar Sex Magik album back in 1991I was amazed by it. It is such a great album. I’ve started listening to their music again when they have released their Stadium Arcadium album in 2006. I totally forgot all about them until I’ve met a Canadian girl that was travelling in Australia and working part time in my team, she gave me this album and it just blew my mind! BTW in 2004 their lead singer Anthony Kiedis released an autobiography book about the band called Scar Tissue and it’s a best seller. I haven’t read it as yet but I’m definitely planning to do so soon.
This song is such a wonderful song from their album Californication which is very good as well. This song again talks about drug abuse and the tough reality after rehab. I don’t know why I always have this weird attraction to songs about drugs, is it me or the bands that I choose to listen to? I read someone else’s interpretation to this song which was quite funny; he thought it was about Anal Sex “take it on the other side”. He could be right, you never know...Check out this awesome song...

EMF – Travelling Not Running (album: Schubert Dip 1991)

This song is by the British group EMF. Anyone remembers them? They had this boy’s band look but their music sounds nothing like it. Their biggest hit was “your unbelievable”, they were quite popular back in early 90’s and then they disappeared. Their album Schubert Dip is brilliant! I love it very much.
This is my favourite EMF song, it’s quite awesome. This song is about a broken relationship, about travelling away to forget all the bad memories. I remember when my hubby and I broke up for the first time after 3 months of dating. He wasn’t really interested in a serious relationship back then. He was quite a player. I was very upset and I just wanted to get away and travel somewhere far from him. I took the train and travelled two hours and stayed with my Friend. I was very upset and I had a few horrible days without him. Of course my hubby didn’t like the fact that I was running away so he came after me, he travelled all the way just to bring me back. That was very sweet of him. Thank god he didn’t give up on us. Check out this wonderful song...

Thirsty Merc – In the summertime (album: Thirsty Merc 2005)

This song is by the Aussie band Thirsty Merc. I’ve seen them perform when I was working close to Martin Place Sydney back in December 2005. I took a long lunch break, met with my friends that also worked in the city and went to see their free surprise gig. They were awesome and it was one of the best lunch breaks I’ve ever had.

This is such a good song , it is the theme song of the tv show Bondi Rescue. Bondi Beach is my favorite place in the whole world ! this song is about the Australian summertime and about how nothing really matters except for having fun and relax:” I don't have a job I never liked them I just wanna play in the sunshine” where I live in Qld, it’s always nice and sunny even in winter and we have the most amazing ocean view from our balcony which I never get tired of, I can spend my entire day just watching the waves, unfortunately I have to go to work in between! I’m definitely a summer person. I can’t stand cold and gloomy weather. It makes me really sad. “Gimme a chance I'll do my best to kick and scream and dance when winter comes I'll turn around” , This song is for my Friend UV that loves hot sunny weather and was also with me at Thirsty Merc’s concert – Hope you enjoy this awesome weather song...

Blur – Girls & Boys (album: Parklife 1994)

This song is by Blur. They were such a good band. I love this song very much. Their lead singer Damon Albarn is such a talent! He is the genius behind the Gorillaz as well.

Sounds to me like this song talks about one hell of a beach party with lots of girls and boys that are looking for more girls and boys not necessarily in this order. It’s probably about the Ibiza night life or something similar. This song brings back memories of my Hubby and I first vacation together, after a dating period of 6 months my Hubby took me to Ayia Napa in Cyprus. It’s a magical place with an amazing beaches and unbelievable night life. We’ve met other couples and spent our entire day at the beach and at night time we went out to different night clubs and pubs. We all rented a scooter, and rode it everywhere. At some point my Hubby suggested that I would ride it as well, He sat behind me and I accidently squeezed the gas too hard and we both fell off the scooter. My knees were bruised from the falling and it is shown on every photo we took on that vacation. One night we got really drunk and we rode the scooter back to our hotel. Two police officers stopped us for an alcohol testing. Of course they have realized we were completely drunk but they were very friendly and bored and wanted to chat. We had a nice half an hour conversation with the police officers and then they’ve hugged us and told us to drive safely back to our hotel. Even the police know how to party on this island!  I would definitely want to go back there, it was an amazing vacation! Back to this lovely song, I hope you like it as much as I do ;)

Blue King Brown – Water (album: Stand Up 2006)

This song is by the Aussie Band Blue King Brown. My hubby and I discovered them on “Live Earth” concert back in 2007. Their performance was just amazing!

This is such a great song. It’s about the aboriginal land rights and the “stolen generation” that refers to the act of taking the aboriginal children out of their home family in a government attempt to maintain a white racial purity. This disgusting act was going on until 1969, way after the World War II ended, you would think that the Aussie Government will learn something from that experience. You can read more about the stolen generation here - Wikipedia - Stolen Generations. I hope you enjoy this great song;)

The Living End – Wake Up (album: State of Emergency 2006)

This song is by the Aussie band The Living End. They have a few really good songs. I really like this song. I think this song is about the current world situation, terror attacks, poverty everywhere, global warming, natural disasters that affect people all around the world it feels like the end of the world is near– it is a wakeup call for all of us to try and change it before it will be too late because it is getting worst each year. “Suicidal education it got sold to our generation Wake up to the manipulation Wake up to the situation Suicidal education”. Check out this wonderful song...

The Rasmus – In The Shadows (album: Dead Letters 2003)

This song is by the Finnish Rock band The Rasmus. I love this song very much. Cool music and awesome lyrics. Their lead singer looks like the male version of Björk.
This song reminds me that I’m living in the shadows all the time because I’ve never managed to do what I’ve always dreamed of doing when I was growing up. I’ve always wanted to be a singer; I started singing when I was maybe 2 years old and never really stopped. I’ve always wanted to play the drums and a guitar as well. My parents promised to buy me a guitar when I was about 14 but because I was very naughty back then they have decided that they wouldn’t buy it for me and to be honest with everything that I’ve put them through I totally agree with their decision. Today after 20 years thanks to my hubby I’ve started playing the guitar and it’s the most divine experience I’ve ever had, my hubby teaches me everything and I enjoy our lessons together and sometimes we manage to Jam together which is just the highest feeling ever. And about the singing – I practice in the shower all the time and I must say that the bathroom walls are the best audience I’ve ever had so far. Check out this cool song...
