This song is by the Aussie Band Blue King Brown. My hubby and I discovered them on “Live Earth” concert back in 2007. Their performance was just amazing!
This is such a great song. It’s about the aboriginal land rights and the “stolen generation” that refers to the act of taking the aboriginal children out of their home family in a government attempt to maintain a white racial purity. This disgusting act was going on until 1969, way after the World War II ended, you would think that the Aussie Government will learn something from that experience. You can read more about the stolen generation here - Wikipedia - Stolen Generations. I hope you enjoy this great song;)
This song is by the Aussie band The Living End. They have a few really good songs. I really like this song. I think this song is about the current world situation, terror attacks, poverty everywhere, global warming, natural disasters that affect people all around the world it feels like the end of the world is near– it is a wakeup call for all of us to try and change it before it will be too late because it is getting worst each year. “Suicidal education it got sold to our generation Wake up to the manipulation Wake up to the situation Suicidal education”. Check out this wonderful song...
This is a really nice video that was done about the poverty in East Timor:
What’s this song about?
Here is a comment from song meaning:
“on the DVD that comes with the special eddition album chris talks about this song being written after the london bombings and it was a really emotional song”
This song is by the Finnish Rock band The Rasmus. I love this song very much. Cool music and awesome lyrics. Their lead singer looks like the male version of Björk. This song reminds me that I’m living in the shadows all the time because I’ve never managed to do what I’ve always dreamed of doing when I was growing up. I’ve always wanted to be a singer; I started singing when I was maybe 2 years old and never really stopped. I’ve always wanted to play the drums and a guitar as well. My parents promised to buy me a guitar when I was about 14 but because I was very naughty back then they have decided that they wouldn’t buy it for me and to be honest with everything that I’ve put them through I totally agree with their decision. Today after 20 years thanks to my hubby I’ve started playing the guitar and it’s the most divine experience I’ve ever had, my hubby teaches me everything and I enjoy our lessons together and sometimes we manage to Jam together which is just the highest feeling ever. And about the singing – I practice in the shower all the time and I must say that the bathroom walls are the best audience I’ve ever had so far. Check out this cool song...
This song is by Seether. I love this band so much! Shaun Morgan kicks ass! This song originally recorded by Seether .It was redone as a duet with Amy Lee @ Evanescence.A little bit of gossip, because I’m a girl and it’s a must – Amy and Shaun dated for 3 years and they have recorded this song during their dating period. It didn’t work out between them eventually. Shame ,they looked really good together! Anyway, the mix of their voices is absolutely amazing and I like this version of this song better than the original.
Shaun wrote this song about his daughter when he decided to move from South Africa to America and had left his family behind. Being away from his daughter left him quite broken. This reminds me of My Hubby’s and I move to Australia. We have left our families behind as well. It’s really hard to leave your family and friends and to know that things will never be the same. It’s been almost 6 years since we’ve moved to Australia. Our siblings already started their families and they all have kids. I love my nieces and nephew very much and I feel that I’m missing the most important stages of their lives. They barely remember us when we go back for a visit and it’s quite sad. We miss our parents and family dinners. We have met new friends and they are like family to us but still being away from your real family is not easy. It’s quite a dilemma that will never be resolved. We moved to Australia to be happier and in a way we found our happiness but we are sad being away from our families but if we will decide to go back then we will always feel miserable being away from Australia. I guess it’s a catch 22 situation that will never be resolved. Check out this amazing duet by one of my favourite bands …
What’s this song about? Here is a comment from songfacts website: Seether lead singer Shaun Morgan wrote this song, which deals with the pain of leaving someone behind. He explained in 2004: "I wrote it two-and-a-half years ago for my daughter, she was just born and I had to come to the States (from South Africa) and I wrote the lyrics for her, it's about leaving somebody behind, you know that is really painful to do, and ultimately you're looking to the future saying 'we'll see each other again and everything will be fine.'"
This next song is by the Aussie band Blis N Eso. I’ve mentioned already that I’m not into Hip Hop music, not at all but there are some exceptions. This song is definitely one of the. It’s a pretty cool song. My hubby and our friend love this band, that’s how I was exposed to this song. I just feel like jumping up and down whenever I listen to it. Sounds like this song is about wakeboarding which really fuels your fire and takes you higher, Wake boarding is pretty cool, I’ve tried it once with my hubby and I really enjoyed it. My hubby is quite an expert already, I love seeing him on the board. He is also very much into Kite Surfing and he is really good at it, he’s been surfing for years now. He jumps really high up and it’s fun to watch him, I usually just take photos and enjoy seeing him having fun – It’s too extreme for me and I’m pretty sure if I’ll decide to try it , I will probably crash into a building or just get eaten by a shark! Anyway check out this cool song...
This song is by Eric Clapton. I get all emotional whenever I listen to this song. He wrote this song about his 4 years old son that fell to his death from a 53rd floor window of a New York apartment. When I listen to this song I think about my dog. I’m really hoping that he is in Dog’s heaven because he deserves the best, he was such an amazing dog and it wasn’t easy for him during the end. He was more human than a lot of people that I know, there was something special in his eyes. Whenever I was sad he felt it and was always there for me and when I was happy he felt it as well, he was amazing and I miss him so much. I’m hoping to meet him again someday and thank him for everything he had done for me; hopefully I’ll be able to take care of him again. He was the best friend ever and sometimes I just took him for granted and then one day he was gone. I have a feeling we will meet again...hopefully in the far future because I still have some living to do. Check out this sad and beautiful song...
"Tears in Heaven" is a ballad written by Eric Clapton and Will Jennings about the pain Clapton felt following the death of his four-year-old son, Conor, who fell from a window of the 53rd-floor New York apartment of his mother's friend, on March 20, 1991. Clapton, who arrived at the apartment shortly after the accident, was visibly distraught for months afterwards. (Wikipedia – Tears in Heaven)
This song is by the Aussie band Empire of the Sun. They have a few nice songs and some weird ones as well. Another Aussie wonder! I love this song very much. My hubby bought us their album and we enjoyed listening to it.
I couldn’t find the meaning of this song but for me it’s all about longing for your youth days where everything was naive and simple and there were no worries or fears, times when you were able to appreciate nature. As adults we are often blinded by too many obligations and the material world and there is no room for fun anymore all is left to do is to linger on our past memories. Check out this awesome song...
This song is by the cranberries. They had such good songs and then they disappeared.Dolores O'Riordan has such an amazing voice and you can hear her wonderful Irish accent when she sings, I love it. I’ve discovered them when they have released their second album “No Need to Argue” in 1994. Back then “Zombie” was quite a hit so I had to get this album! This song is purely about being in love with someone and not getting anything in return except for a huge heartache. I don’t really have a sad story about a breakup or anything, I met my hubby when I was 24 and whatever was in my past didn’t really matter anymore. Of course I had a few crushes and a few boyfriends and my heart was broken for a few days but seriously I never made a fuss about any of it. I guess everyone experience some kind of disappointment in their life but if you are wise enough to know that this is an integral part of life then you just move on until you find the right person. If your heart is broken by someone it just means that you have placed in the wrong hands. Check out this wonderful 90’s song...
This song is by Linkin Park. I wasn’t a fan at all until I’ve been to one of their concerts in Sydney and I was just shocked by their unbelievable good performance, it was one of the best shows I’ve seen so far. They are so talented! All of them! I’ve almost missed the concert. when my hubby bought us tickets to the concert, I was reluctant to join him so he gave my ticket to our friend. Then I’ve changed my mind again after I’ve discovered that Chris Cornell will be supporting their tour, no way I would have missed that! My hubby was kind enough to get me another ticket at the last minute. I was sitting all by myself during Chris Cornell’s performance but later on I’ve joined my hubby and friends for Linkin Park show. It was such a nice surprise! My conclusion from this experience is that I’ll never say no to any concert invention in the future! This is the theme song of the first transformers movie. I loved all of the Transformers movies and I don’t usually enjoy Sci Fi movies in fact I distaste them! And I wasn’t really interested in watching the TV show when I was a child but now I really think Bumblebee kicks Ass! My next car will definitely be a yellow transformer one! Check out this awesome song…
Chester Bennington described the track in a March 2007 interview with MTV:
Joe [Hahn] came up to Mike and me and asked us to take the whole idea of Minutes to Midnight and apply that to how the band has changed. So, in a way, it's us saying goodbye to how we used to be...The lyrics in the first verse are 'In this farewell, there's no blood, there's no alibi,' and right away, you'll notice that the band sounds different: The drums are much more raw, the guitars are more raw and the vocals aren't tripled. It's just us out there .... and that's how Rick Rubin wanted it.(Wikipedia – What I’ve Done)
This song is by the Aussie & Irish band The Potbelleez. Such a cool band they have a few cool songs, it’s quality house music and I appreciate it very much. This song was quite a hit in Australia, when it first came out they were constantly playing it on the radio. We have seen them perform in one of the music festivals in Sydney when they have just released this song and their show was just awesome! It’s quite a catchy song and I never get tired of it, I feel like crazy dancing when I listen to it ;)
It sounds like this song is about letting someone else help you deal with your emotional turmoil and not holding back your feelings. It’s about sharing and opening up to someone else that might have experienced the same situation at some point of his life. I share all my troubles and thoughts with my hubby; he understands me completely and always puts everything in the right perspective, it’s important to have that one true friend in your life. It is important to be true to your feelings and open up to someone, holding back your feelings will make you sick at some point of your life and you definitely don’t want that! Check it out...
