The Wombats – Let’s Dance to Joy Division (album: A Guide to Love, Loss & Desperation 2007)

This song is by The Wombats. It’s a cool song about Joy Division’s wonderful song Love will tear us apart. This song is like those Russian dolls, a song inside a song inside a song …or maybe not!
I’ve read something quite funny on the news not long ago. A 10 years old girl from Britain brought a bag of cocaine to school thinking it’s a bag filled with candy and she was generous enough to share it with her class mates. Luckily the teacher notices the suspicious bag that the girl was holding and confiscated it before any of the kids could reach it. The teacher rang the police and they have raided the girl’s house. Apparently the dad was a serious drug dealer. I found this story very entertaining. My conclusion from this story is “sometimes working from home is not the best option…” this story reminds me of how I told on my mum without even realizing what I was saying. I was maybe 5 years old and I had a really nice twin friends and mum used to drop me off at their house in the afternoons. The thing is, my mum couldn’t stand their mum and she always said horrible things behind her back to my dad. Of course I’ve absorbed everything and one day I told my friend’s mum “I don’t know why my mum hates you, you are such a nice lady…” the woman got offended and confronted my mum. My mum of course had to make up a story so she can get away with it. My mum always reminds me of how I embarrassed her in front of that lady. It’s amazing how honest we are as kids and then we become more and more false as we grow old. Anyway, check out this wonderful song…

Lyrics: Joy Division Lyrics

What’s this song about?

It is based on a drunken night when lead singer Matthew Murphy danced on a table with his girlfriend to "Love Will Tear Us Apart" by Joy Division, and the cover art references that single's art. (Wikipedia – let’s dance to joy division)
